What we do here
We create one of a kind custom jewelry (bespoke) for you using state of the art CAD/CAM technology.
What is CAD/CAM and how does it work?
CAD/CAM stands for Computer Aided Design & Computer Aided Manufacturing. We design and engineer a 3-dimensional model of your jewelry and create a physical model by rapid prototyping or CNC milling.
Rapid prototyping is a process by which your 3-D design is converted to a tangible wax model by building micro-layer upon micro-layer of wax upon one another until the prototype is finished. Think of rapid prototyping as a very big injet printer extruding liquid wax insteak of ink.
CNC Milling is a process through which the dimensions of your 3-D model are translated to a machine that uses a high speed (usually conical) bit specially designed for the purpose to cut your design out of wax.
Although both processes still require time to complete, the finished result is infinately more precise than hand carving or fabrication could ever produce. It is becoming an increasingly important method of design for its flexibility, speed, and precision. CAD/CAM designed jewelry is swiftly being considered a new status symbol.
Only 50 Clients a year.
We at DeMer consider this a service to you. Our advantage is in our ability to provide dedicated support and consultation to each client, a luxury lacking in the average retail store. With much deliberation and consultation we have calculated that we would be able to dedicate a combined entire week to each of our clients (with extra time allowed) hence only 50 clients a year: a service to you.
